the Netherlands
Over years, because of mergers, several cheese factories have been closed and production has been concentrated at a number of locations with 1 or more production lines.
This happened in both the Netherlands and Germany.
In the period from 1992 to 2018, the KLOKSLAG carried out several projects. These projects consisted of locations with 1 to 3 production lines, with each a capacity of 40,000 to 80,000 tons per year.
The production lines were suitable for the production of Euroblok, both foil and natural, and combinations of Gouda 4/5, 12 and 16 kg in both moulds with net and micro perforated, Euroblok and Eurobrood.

Nearly 60 percent of milk is used for cheese
In 2020, Dutch dairy factories received 14 billion kilograms of fresh cow's milk. That's 94 percent of the total milk production of Dutch cows. That year, 8.3 billion kilograms of cow's milk were used for the production of cheese. This is 59 percent of the total supply. To produce a kilogram of cheese, about 8.5 kilograms of cow's milk is needed.
The majority of cheese production is done with cheese presses and deep brine systems from the KLOKSLAG.
